RX Sackhead Installation
RX Sackhead lets players place a sack over another character’s head, hiding their view until it is removed. It works on QBR, VORP, and RSG, and ships in two versions: V1 with a timed removal, and V2 with a key-based removal and framework-aware notifications.
Requirements
| Requirement | Why it is needed |
|---|---|
| QBR, VORP, or RSG | Supplies player data and the notification layer. |
An inventory item named sack | The item players carry and use. The name is set by Config.ItemName. |
No database is required beyond the item your inventory system already stores.
1. Place the resource
Extract the complete resource into your server’s resources directory. Keep the folder intact: the sack textures are loaded from paths inside the resource.
The default extracted folder name is ripex-sackhead.
2. Add it to server.cfg
Start your framework first, then RX Sackhead.
ensure ripex-sackhead If you renamed the resource folder, replace ripex-sackhead with that exact folder name.
3. Register the sack item
Add an item named sack to your inventory system using the method your framework expects. The name must match Config.ItemName:
Config.ItemName = 'sack' If your server already uses sack for something else, pick a different name and update Config.ItemName to match it exactly. A mismatch here is the most common reason the interaction never triggers.
4. Verify the interaction
Restart the resource and test with two accounts:
- Give the
sackitem to a player and confirm it appears in their inventory. - Hogtie the second player and place the sack on their head.
- Confirm their view is blocked while the sack is on.
- Remove the sack and confirm their view returns.
- Try the interaction from too far away and confirm it is rejected by
Config.MaxDistance.
If nothing happens, set Config.Debug = true temporarily to see why the interaction was rejected, then turn it off again.
Then continue to Configuration.
